Cashmere is a natural fibre obtained from cashmere goats. Other natural fibres include mohair, sheep's wool, linen and cotton. Natural fibres are valued for their individual characteristics, comfort and versatility.
Both cashmere and sheep's wool are natural materials, but cashmere is particularly prized for its fine fibres, exceptional softness and warmth without unnecessary weight.
Some of the finest cashmere comes from Inner Mongolia, where our cashmere goats are raised. The region's extreme temperatures encourage the development of a fine, insulating undercoat that helps protect the animals against the cold.
In spring, when the goats naturally begin to shed their winter coats, the fine undercoat is carefully collected by hand through combing. This traditional process allows the precious fibres to be gathered without harming the animals.
