Our silk designs are crafted from 19 momme 5A–6A mulberry silk — a premium silk quality known for its soft drape, natural luster, and durable fibers.
Silk is an exclusive natural material evaluated based on several factors, including fiber length, purity, strength, and density. Together, these elements dictate how the material feels against the skin, how beautifully it drapes, and how well the quality endures over time.
Momme (mm) is the unit of measurement used to describe the weight, body, and density of silk.
- The higher the momme, the more substantial and durable the silk feels.
- Premium silk typically ranges between 19-25 momme.
- A higher momme provides a more beautiful drape and a highly exclusive feel.
Our silk designs are developed in 19 momme to create the perfect balance of lightness, comfort, and lasting quality.
What does 5A–6A mean?
Silk is graded on a scale from A to 6A, with 6A representing the absolute highest quality. This strict grading evaluates:
- Fiber length
- Uniformity of the silk thread
- Purity of the fibers
- Strength and durability
Long and uniform silk fibers provide a softer look, a more beautiful luster, and a quality that remains stunning over time.
What characterizes premium silk?
High-quality silk is characterized by its unique, sensory properties:
- A soft and natural luster
- A silky-smooth feel against the skin
- A light and fluid drape
- Highly durable fibers
- Beautiful quality that stands the test of time
The natural shine of silk comes from the fiber's unique structure and its ability to reflect light — never from a hard or artificial surface finish. At the same time, silk is one of the world's strongest natural fibers, making the material lightweight, breathable, and incredibly durable when cared for correctly.
Silke er samtidig en av verdens sterkeste naturfibre, noe som gjør materialet både lett, behagelig og slitesterkt når det behandles riktig.
Our Silk Weaves
Plain Satin:
A smooth and silky-soft fabric with a natural luster and a fluid drape. The satin weave gives the surface a refined look and is used in our dresses, tops, and scarves.
Crepe de chine:
A lightweight silk fabric with a soft, subtly textured surface and a more muted, matte shine. The fabric feels exceptionally comfortable against the skin and is perfect for both everyday wear and more dressed-up occasions.
Twill satin:
A luxurious silk fabric with a discreet, diagonal texture and natural luster. The twill weave gives the material more depth, increased strength, and a slightly heavier drape, while the feel against the skin remains completely silky smooth. We use this quality when we want a more defined, tailored drape, such as in our trousers.
