IT ALL STARTED WITH CASHMERE
It began in 2011 with a fascination for cashmere and an idea: to introduce this remarkable natural material to Norwegian women — in garments suited to Scandinavian style and the Norwegian seasons. Fifteen years on, cashmere is still the heart of Kashmina — and quality, pure natural materials and timeless design remain the foundation of everything we do.
But then there was the cashmere…
When Kashmina was founded in 2011, founder Monica Bergem was working as a biologist and researcher at the Research Council of Norway. She had no plans to change direction. But her interest in cashmere grew into an idea.
From the very beginning, Monica wanted to understand the material and be certain of its quality. So she reached out to SIFO (the National Institute for Consumer Research) to develop a test of the cashmere fibres — with the aim of ensuring both fibre quality and that the material truly was 100% cashmere.
15 years on
Today Kashmina is built on the same core principles: pure natural materials, timeless design and garments made to be worn for years. Cashmere is still the heart of Kashmina.
15 years of cashmere. Now silk too.
In 2026, Kashmina introduced 100% pure silk — a natural new chapter for a brand that has always kept the material at its centre.
